The feature of P8P67 is based from the new chipset of Intel which is the P67 Express in which it supports the processors of the Sandy Bridge. This kind of chipset supports processors i3, i5 and i7 on the interface LGA-1155. Unfortunately each new family of CPU that is launch from Intel inclines to shift the interface for the sake of its new CPUs which is now the case of the Sandy Bridge.

This new interface has pins of about 1155 compared from the 1156 which is found in LGA-1156 Socket. This is dissimilar from its counterpart AMD in which the processors of LGA-1156 does not work with the interface LGA-1155.

Intel has its newest chipset which is the P67 Express Platform Controller Hub. The features of this new chipset is that it supports up to two SATA controllers that is 6Gb/second and also 4 3Gb/second controllers which is also a SATA. This only offers distinct options for graphics only that has no support for graphics such as GMA 3000 which is on the CPUs of Sandy Bridge which is catered by the chipset H67 Express. In the CPU are the memory controller and also the controller PCI Express.

This CPU has lanes available: 16 PCI Express. When they are used for conjunction together with the chipset P67 Express, it can split into 2 lanes of x8 for Crossfire or SLI in which both are supported by the Sandy Bridge platform.
