MCU Has High Speed, High Endurance, Low Power RAM Built-In

Fujitsu Semiconductor America, Inc. has launched a new 8 bit MCU for general-purpose applications, featuring Ferroelectric Random Access Memory (FRAM) embedded in a single-chip.

Specifications :

  • MCU – MB95R203A
  • Power Supply – 1.8Vmin – 3.6Vmax
  • Bus Width – 8 bits
  • FRAM Capacity – 8Kb Non-Volatile.
  • A/D Converter, UART, I2C, Timers, I/O Ports-16.
  • On-chip, One-pin debug.
  • On-chip, built-in Oscillator.
  • 20-Pin SOP or 24-Pin DIP Packages

Advantages :

By embedding FRAM within an MCU total cost and footprint has been reduced.  It will simplify system design. This architecture has eliminated the interconnections between MCU and external RAM and thereby significantly improved the transaction speed between MCU and the embedded memory, resulting in performance that exceeds Flash or EEPROM.

Quick Look at New Intel Processor of 2011

Year 2010 was a huge success year for Intel’s New Core processor range codenamed “Sandy Bridge” and commonly known as i series processors. With the beginning of year 2011 they announced second series of popular i processor or “Sandy bridge” processor. This will maintain lead of Intel in market of computer processors.

They have announced a total of 30 new processor among which 15 will be Mobile use and 15 are for desktop usage. Among all these maximum number of Mobile processor are 10 i7 Mobile processor out of which is 1 new i7 extreme processor. Clearly they are concentrating on more processing power for mobile devices. which is now in more demand as more and more people preferring for laptops and tablets over Desktops. Future is for Wireless devices, 3d and mobile platforms including web then sitting with old desktop at home.

Core i7-980x

Corei7 980X

Intel is the first on the market for processors with 6 cores availability of the Core i7-980X. The Gulftown is his pet name, presents itself as the ultimate solution to the constructor with a base frequency to 3.3 GHz, 6 physical cores, 6 cores logic, technology Turbo Boost and a large cache of 12 MB L3All this takes place on a array socket LGA 1366 led to the couple X58/ICH10 (R) and requires no change motherboard, a very good news.

We might think that such a chip, with 1.17 billion transistors, is the source of energy requirement to fulfill its potential, however, Intel announced a TDP of 130 watts equivalent to Core i7 975 Extreme Edition or the simple Core i7 920. It is therefore interesting to know how the processor giant has attacked the problem in order to combine the advantages of performance while guaranteeing the same thermal envelope.

We tortured the Core i7 980X with many applications, viewed its demand for energy in different situations and measuring its performance against several other chips 4 cores of the mark.

A particular issue to see if Intel is working with a sword of Damocles above his head reminding him at every moment that needs powers are certainly very present but not at the expense of consumption out of proportion?

The list of compatible Asus motherboards with A Phenom II X6

Asus compatible with phenom

News jostling on the Phenom II X6 which create a “real” interest in the hexa-core to the general public, despite Intel has also launched his own (i7 980X) but is reserved for the ultra high range with its tariff of $ 999 (pending declination public …). Asus is preparing for the arrival of the Phenom II X6, which recall the reach the end of next month, and today unveils its list of the range cards compatible with the M4 hex-core future. He obviously enough to make a down-to-date BIOS and voila! A quick glance at the picture below will tell you if you make use of the lucky ones:
