A few days before the official launch of the GeForce GTX 470 and 480 (March 27), several sources suggest their technical characteristics. This information, which attract a lot of curiosity, however, are to “take with a grain of salt” until an official confirmation.
These two new graphics solutions are based on the GF100. The first, the GeForce GTX 470, propose a GPU to 607 MHz equipped with 40 ROPs and 448 units of calculation to 1215 MHz powered. The overall benefit of 1.25 GB of GDDR5 to 1674 MHz operated via a 320 bit memory bus. Power consumption side, the TDP would be located at 225 Watts.
The GeForce GTX 480, Swift and more power hungry, would show a thermal envelope of 250 watts, no less! Processor at 700 MHz embark 48 ROPs and 480 units of computing 1401 MHz. Regarding the memory, we would expect to 1.5 GB of GDDR5 to 1848 MHz operated via a bus 384 bits.
All this information should become clearer in the coming days.
