Noctua is Austrian-Taiwanese joint venture that primarily caters to computer enthusiasts providing world class CPU coolers and computer fans. In their 5 years of operation, they were able to produce 3 CPU coolers which significantly beat any other coolers. Now they offer the Noctua NH-C 14 CPU cooler. It still sports the same physical feature with some updates on its fin and fan profiles.
Noctua NH-C 14 CPU Cooler
It has a C-Type top-flow design allowing super quiet cooling with its low noise and ultra low noise adaptors and exceptional airflow performance of 110.3 m³/h but has a lower profile. It has a normal rotational speed of (+/- 10%) 1200RPM and can be reduced up to 750RPM for ultra low noise profile. Its normal acoustical noise is 19.6dB and 10.1dB for the ultra low noise profile.
It has a physical dimension of 130mm height, 140mm width and 166mm depth. Its fan can be detached reducing about 25mm of its height. It weighs about 850 grams along with its fan. Its base and six heat-pipes are made of copper while its cooling fins are made of aluminum. Its joints are soldered and nickel-plated. It has two high quality NF-P14 140mm fans that can be regulated according to the user’s need. However, its top fan could be removed without too much compromising its performance. Without its top fan it is only 105mm tall, creating higher clearance which is ideal for small enclosures, RAM with tall heatspreaders and HTCP applications. Or it could also operate with its top fan only providing 65mm of clearance.
Noctua NH-C14 Clearance
It makes use of the SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system that is compatible with LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA775, AM2, AM2+ and AM3 with backplate requirement. It has an input power of 1.2W and voltage range of 12V. It has a MTBF of less than 150 hours which is a lot lower than other coolers. Rest assured that it passed the highest in safety, performance and usage standards. It also has Noctua NT-H1 high-end thermal compound providing exceptional performance and ease of use.
